In 1989, Bruce and Sherry Shields opened what would eventually become ABS Tag & Title with a simple but powerful idea: help dealerships and fleets find vehicles they could not get on their own. At the time, inventory constraints were limiting growth, delaying deliveries, and costing opportunities. Bruce and Sherry built a reputation for doing what others could not, locating hard-to-find vehicles through relationships, persistence, and an uncompromising work ethic.

What happened next defined the future of the company. As those vehicles were located and purchased, clients began asking a follow-up question. Could ABS also handle the titling and registration? Could they manage the paperwork that slowed everything down after the deal was done? Could they help navigate the confusion, delays, and state-by-state complexity that came with vehicle compliance?​ The answer was yes.
